High power pulsed fiber lasers complement Coherent-Rofin’s high power fiber laser offering. The HighLight FL1000P is a 1 kW pulsed fiber laser that offers the highest beam quality currently available at this power level, thus enabling high throughput, precision ablation for a variety of industrial and solar applications.
The Coherent-Rofin HighLight FL-P Series is designed to deliver exceptional reliability and high uptime in demanding, multi-shift industrial environments and its compact footprint is virtually predestined for integration into existing machining workstations.
It uses field-proven components as employed in the Company’s standard, CW fiber laser products: passive cooled T-bar pumping modules tolerating single emitter faults, power supplies and the RCU control unit. The control unit offers numerous monitoring tasks and e-service capability.
The HighLight FL1000P lasers deliver a maximum pulse energy of 100 mJ, at pulse widths between 10 ns and 100 ns, and with repetition rates ranging from 10 kHz to 30 kHz. A beam parameter product of typical 20 mm x mrad (for a 400 μm, round core output fiber) enables this power to be effectively concentrated into small focused spot sizes.
The unique combination high average power, high pulse energy and superior beam quality makes the HighLight FL1000P an ideal laser source for ablation, surface cleaning, and precision material and coating removal in a range of applications. These include AlSi removal from tailored blanks prior to welding, edge deletion for thin film (a-Si, CdTe, CIGS) solar cells, cleaning of molds, aerospace components and other precision parts, as well as other surface cleaning, activation and structuring uses.
In addition, a scanner processing solution package is optionally available enabling simple implementation of scanner-based applications.

HighLight FL-ARM (Adjustable Ring Mode) laser is a unique fiber laser that delivers a significant advance in fiber laser processing by enabling unprecedented solutions, such as zero-gap welding of zinc coated steel and spatter-reduced welding of metals, to name a few.

Coherent CleanWeld is our unique combination of fiber laser innovations, beam delivery, and process knowledge, which improves part quality, increases throughput, and lowers process costs. Weld zero-gap galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper, and aluminum with up to 80% less spatter, lower porosity, and no cracking.
The ARM technology provides two independently controlled co-axial beams from one fiber, leading to a new level of flexibility for demanding applications. The power levels in both central spot and surrounding ring are independently adjustable. This results in high speed and high throughput spatter-free processing and lowers overall production costs by largely eliminating the need for post-processing.
HighLight FL-ARM systems can be configured with one to four separate fiber laser units, thus providing total maximum output powers from 2.5 kW to 10 kW. Additionally, the power in the center and ring can always be adjusted on demand, and even modulated at repetition rates up to 5 kHz. All this makes it easy for both, the system integrators and end users, to achieve exactly the results they need for virtually any processing task. Added to this is a multi-stage back reflection immunity that enhances laser reliability and lifetime, and enables processing of highly reflective materials, including brass and copper.

The Coherent-ROFIN HighLight FL fiber lasers are high brightness, high-power fiber lasers offering output powers from 500 W to 10,000 W. With their modular and robust design the lasers have been set-up for optimum efficiency, flexibility and reliability in industrial applications such as cutting, welding and surface treatment. HighLight FL lasers incorporate technical innovations with field-proven reliability into solutions that can be optimally tailored to enable higher throughput in many materials processing applications. The combination of different power levels and range of fiber core diameters allow for precise adaptation in a broad range of processing tasks. The lasers allow operation either in CW or pulsed mode at repetition rates of up to 5 kHz. The emitted wavelength of 1 μm achieves high absorption in many materials and is especially suitable for processing highly reflective materials. In addition, these lasers are inherently immune to back reflections, enabling safe processing of materials such as brass and copper. Furthermore, industry leading power control delivers long-term stability and high process consistency in these applications.
All lasers of this model range are equipped with the Coherent-ROFIN Control Unit (RCU), which offers numerous monitoring tasks and e-service capability. A scanner processing solution package is optionally available enabling simple implementation of scanner-based applications.
The “compact” version with a spliced fiber and a small cabinet is ideally suited for easy integration into existing systems. One of the latest advancements is the new HighLight FL3000C with 3 kW output power from just one fiber laser module allowing for utmost compactness in this power class. The “standard” version offers a separated enclosure for beam management. Up to four fibers can be used with time or energy sharing including two channel interlocks per output and a multi-station fieldbus interface. By using different diameters of the process fiber, the beam quality can be ideally adapted to the specific application task.
