EdgeWave Ultrashort Pulse InnoSlab Lasers

EdgeWave is a highly innovative provider of high-end InnoSlab laser sources with short or ultra-short pulse length.

The parameter range of short pulse lasers is:

-Highest beam quality: M² < 1.1

-Pulse length: 0.8ns – 200ns

-Pulse rep. rate: up to 200kHz

-Pulse energy: up to 100mJ

-Peak power: up to 10MW

-High average: power up to 800W

-Beam profile: circular Gaussian, 1D Top-Hat and 2D Top-Hat

-Wavelength: IR, VIS, UV, DUV

The parameter range of ultra-short pulse lasers is:

-Highest beam quality: M² < 1.1

-Pulse length: 300fs to 40ps

-Pulse rep. rate: up to 100MHz

-Pulse energy up to 3000µJ

-Peak power: up to 3000MW

-High average power up to 600W

-Wavelength: IR, VIS, UV, DUV

-Burst Mode: number of pulses from 1 to 16, pulse energy of each pulse adjustable

-Free Trigger: patented technology

InnoSlab lasers with a Gaussian beam profile are especially enabled for precise processing of micro structures with minimal heat-affection. Typical applications are for instance the drilling, ablating, processing, cutting and scribing of glass, sapphire, metal, carbon fiber composites, electrodes, etc.

InnoSlab lasers with 1D Top-Hat beam profile are ideal beam sources for the annealing of thin crystal layers and for the Laser-Lift-off (LLO) process in the display industry.

InnoSlab lasers with 2D Top-Hat beam profile are particularly advantageous for deleting and structuring thin-layer for the production of e.g. displays, OLEDs and solar cells. The Top-Hat beam profile enables homogeneous ablation with min. beam overlapping and a highly efficient usage of pulse energy in comparison to the Gaussian beam profile. The short pulse length reduces the thermal damage to the substrates.

The unique Free Triggering (FT) option enables highest flexibility for system integration and process control. With every trigger pulse an ultra-short laser pulse is fired with well-defined pulse energy. This feature enables fundamental simplification for system integrators: Ultra-short pulse lasers are no more master. They become a slave and follow processing. For example, FT allows the usage of Polygon Scanners without complex synchronization and high-speed scanner or translation stage with PSO function.
