In September 2018 SmarAct released a megapixel laser-scanning laser vibrometer for non-contact vibration measurements, the PICOSCALE Vibrometer. It is a turnkey system that addresses the need for Research & Development and Quality Control instrumentation that keeps pace with the ever increasing complexity of micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), ultra-compact microphones and loudspeakers, automotive sensors, energy harvesters, acoustoﬂuidic devices, etc.

The PICOSCALE Interferometer is a miniaturized but powerful system for optical displacement measurements based on a Michelson interferometer with pm-resolution. With diameters below 3 mm, SmarAct's electronic free sensor heads can be integrated in most sensitive applications. Besides collimated and focused beam shapes, the true differential and line focusing heads are unique on the market. The PICOSCALE Interferometer does not require any specific target reflectivity.

Parallel-kinematic systems for manipulating objects in all six degrees of freedom. The hexapod-like SMARPOD is considerably more compact than common serial kinematics. It has many advantages such as higher rigidity, low moving mass hence improved dynamical response and a user-definable virtual pivot point. Due to the modular design of the SMARPOD, its size and strength can be adapted to changing requirements, reaching from a few centimeters to almost a meter of travel with nanometer resolution.
