http://www.chromasens.deChromasens GmbH is your partner for efficient and performant color image capturing in 2D and 3D.
Chromasens stands for „color“ and „sensor technology“ – our central objective is developing customized systems for high-quality image capturing in 2D and 3D and the development of line scan camera systems, 3D- and multispectral cameras and high-intensity LED light sources.
Chromasens GmbH was founded in 2004 and produces industrial image processing systems for a wide application field. Color line scan cameras, lighting technology for industrial image processing as well as software for optimized use of our products is just to name a few.
Customers from all sorts of industrial branches – ranging from electronics and semiconductor inspection, food inspection, print inspection up to medical engineering and security technology – make use of Chromasens’ product expertise and solution skills. Our engineers and scientists work closely with the customers in order to implement the best possible industrial image processing system for their specific needs.
Furthermore, whether for a simple integration in a complete solution or for extensive usage of the provided functionalities, Chromasens has the suitable software. All products and customized applications are 'Made in Germany', developed and manufactured at the company location in Constance. Continuous dialogues with universities and research institutions ensure further development of the company’s know-how. Both research/development and production are ISO 9001-certified.
The world-wide sale of standardized image processing components is either handled directly or by certified value-added distributors. From concept and design phase until serial delivery, fair and intensive support of both direct and project customers is the main focus of Chromasens’ service philosophy.
Chromasens has received several innovation awards. In 2007 the company was given the Siemens AG Industrial Solutions and Services Award and in 2011 – again from Siemens AG – the 'Star Supplier 2011' Award for innovation in the Mobility Infrastructure and Logistics class.
Since May 2017 Chromasens is a member of Lakesight Technologies. The machine vision holding is acquired by TKH Group NV at the end of 2018.
Line scan cameras are mainly used for object inspection on conveyor belts because they offer a high-resolution view of endless material and fast moving objects. The Chromasens range of line scan cameras consists of four models for a wide variety of tasks and requirements.
The Chromasens 3D line scan camera 3DPIXA enables 3D inspection applications and 3D measurement techniques with high resolution. With a unique combination of line scan camera technology and fast 3D stereo calculation, the camera simultaneously delivers 3D data and color images.
3D applications can be created directly with the support of common image processing libraries. With the easy-to-integrate Chromasens 3D API, 3DPIXA images and 3D data are also available for any other Windows software environment.
Adequate illumination is a prerequisite for optimum 3D results. In order to select the most suitable illumination for an application, the entire range of corona illuminations is available.
The 3DPIXA is available in two different versions - compact and dual:
The 3DPIXA compact offers full speed in a smaller space and is used in many automotive applications.
The 3DPIXA dual convinces with larger scanning widths and higher accuracies and is used for applications in electronics and semiconductor inspection.
The Chromasens line scan cameras offer new approaches for the color-accurate capture of objects. The chromaPIXA has an internal FPGA-based color calculator which converts the color information of the CCD sensor on-the-fly into standard output color spaces. Algorithms are used which allow a more precise transformation than the usual 3x3 matrix transformation.
The chromaPIXA works with 3 input channels and therefore has the same scanning performance as the allPIXA pro.
The truePixa divides the visible spectrum into twelve channels and can thus determine the CIELAB values of the original even more precisely.
Light is the first important step for a successful machine vision application. Even with line scan cameras the requirements for light are high. Chromasens enables customers to achieve their objective with fewer complications. The Corona II family offers a wide range of lighting for line scanning:
One of the most important points to consider when using LEDs in machine vision is how to keep the device cool, even with modern high power LEDs. Chromasens offers a modular system for cooling.
