1100W Yb:YAG fs INNOSLAB amplifier

To transfer femtosecond technology to industrial applications, laser sources ofhigh average power are essential. We demonstrate a compact diode-pumped Yb:KGWfemtosecond oscillator - Yb:YAG Innoslab amplifier MOPA with nearly transformand diffraction limited 636 fs pulses at 620 W average output power and 20 MHzrepetition rate. By cascading two amplifiers an average output power of 1.1 kWand peak power of 80 MW is achieved in a single, linearly polarized beam. TheMOPA is operated at room temperature and no CPA technique is used. The specificproperties of Innoslab MOPAs are compared with fibers and thin-disks.
